01Who we are
Laspi Web Studio is a small web studio in the United Kingdom, run by Danny. In this notice, “we” and “us” mean Laspi Web Studio. We decide how the personal data described here is used, which makes us its controller under UK data protection law.
If you have a question about your data, email hello@laspi.co.uk and Danny will answer it himself.
02Visiting this website
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and it has no forms. You can read every page without us learning who you are.
Like any website, it’s served by a hosting company whose servers keep short-lived technical logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. These are used to keep the site running and secure, and they aren’t used to identify or profile you.
If we ever add analytics or anything else that changes this, we’ll update this notice first.
03When you get in touch
When you email us, book a call or ask for a health check, we receive whatever you choose to send. Usually that’s:
- your name and email address, and a phone number if you give one
- your website address and the name of your business
- anything you tell us about your site, what you pay for it and what you need
We use it to reply, to run the health check you asked for, and to give you a quote. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or taking steps you’ve asked for before entering into a contract. We won’t add you to a mailing list or send you marketing you didn’t ask for.
04When you become a client
To look after your website, we also hold your billing details and the access we need to your accounts, such as your domain registrar, hosting and website admin. Our lawful basis is the contract between us.
Logins are kept in a password manager. They’re never stored in plain text or sent back and forth by email, and when you leave, our access is removed as part of the handover.
05Your own website’s visitors
When we look after your website, it may collect personal data from your customers, such as enquiry form messages or booking details. That data belongs to you and you’re its controller. We only handle it to keep your site running and to carry out your instructions, and we don’t use it for anything else.
06Who we share data with
We don’t sell personal data or share it for marketing. We use a small number of trusted services to run the business, and they handle data on our behalf:
- our email provider, to send and receive messages
- hosting companies, to serve this website and our clients’ websites
- a password manager, to store client logins securely
- accounting and payment services, to send invoices and take payment
Some of these may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we use providers that protect it to the standard UK law requires. We’ll also share data if the law requires us to.
07How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t lead to work are kept only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry. Client records are kept while you’re a client, and invoices and payment records for as long as the law requires for tax purposes, which is usually six years.
08Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, stop using it or send it to you in a portable format. Email hello@laspi.co.uk and we’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
09Changes to this notice
If we change how we use personal data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects clients, we’ll tell them by email as well.
