Free health check
A free health check
for your website
Send us your web address and we’ll send back a one-page report in plain English: what’s working, what isn’t and what to fix first.
It costs nothing, there’s no obligation, and you don’t need to give us any logins.
What the check covers
We check your site from the outside, the way a customer or a search engine sees it. These six areas cover most of what goes wrong with small business websites.
-
Speed
How quickly your pages load on a phone and on a computer, measured with Google’s own tools, and the biggest things slowing them down.
-
Security and upkeep
Whether the site’s software is up to date, whether it has a valid security certificate, and whether that certificate is close to expiring.
-
Phones
How the layout holds up on a small screen, and whether buttons and links are easy to tap with a thumb.
-
Search basics
Page titles, descriptions, headings, image descriptions, a sitemap, and whether your Google Business Profile is set up and linked.
-
Enquiries and bookings
Whether it’s obvious how to get in touch, book or buy, and whether your bookings go through a platform that takes a commission on each one.
-
What you’re paying
A rough idea of what a site like yours should cost to run, so you can compare it with what you pay now.
What the report looks like
The report is written for you, not for a developer. Each finding says what we found, why it matters to your business and roughly how big the fix is.
The examples on the right show how findings are written. They aren’t from a real site.
- Fix first
Your homepage is slow to appear on a phone
The large photo at the top is several times bigger than it needs to be. Resizing it is a small change, and it would make the biggest single difference to how quickly the page loads.
Small change - Worth doing
Your contact page has no title for search results
Google shows your web address instead, which tells people very little about the page. Writing a proper title takes a few minutes.
Small change - All good
Your security certificate is valid until March
Nothing to do for now. It should renew by itself, and it’s worth confirming that it does a few weeks before it’s due.
No action
How to request a check
All it takes is one email, with no form to fill in and nothing to sign up to.
Ask for a health check-
Email us your web address Send it to hello@laspi.co.uk. If you like, add a line about what the site is for and what you pay for it now, which makes the cost section more useful.
-
We run the checks Danny goes through the site by hand, with help from the same tools Google uses. Nothing on your site is changed, and nobody needs your logins.
-
You get the report by email One page, with the most important findings first. Reply with any questions and you’ll get straight answers.
-
Then it’s up to you Fix things yourself, pass the report to whoever looks after your site now, or ask us. There’s no sales follow-up, and we won’t add you to a mailing list.
Questions about the health check
If yours isn’t here, email hello@laspi.co.uk and you’ll get a straight answer.
Is it really free?
Yes. There’s no charge and no obligation. It’s a useful way to see how we work before deciding anything.
Do you need access to my website?
No. Everything is checked from the outside, the way a customer or a search engine sees your site, so you don’t need to share logins or install anything.
Will you contact my current web provider?
No. The report comes to you, and what you do with it is entirely up to you.
What if my site is in good shape?
Then we’ll say so. A short report that says your site is fine is still worth having, and it might save you paying for work you don’t need.
Can you fix what you find?
Yes, if you’d like us to. Most fixes are small changes covered by our monthly plans, and anything bigger gets a fixed price first.
